A Juicy Offseason Report

Since the fun that was had on the spontaneous getaway to Ucluelet, there has been only mo’great times to report on. And I’m quite chuffed with myself, if i do say, that I get to blog about a life beyond swimbikerun. So check it out…the Juicy Offseason Report.

Xavier came to Vancouver! The man is talented, his music has heart, I like the didg. I reallllly like live music! (I love seeing artists perform their trade, their trick – my wish is that we all approach life like artists.)

And Xavier by night, meant Winter Farmer’s Market by Saturday morning! We discovered brussel sprouts not in small quantities, chatted with the sweet lil island girl who delivers us oysters, found some new delicious food trucks (their art: food by truck. #inspiring) AND met the creator of Earnest Icecream (psst – they do custom icecream flavors, serve ‘em in jars and are simply rad humans #nuffsaid). Meet your Maker, Love your Farmer, these markets make my heart happy.

It took a month (because half of the month we weren’t home!), yet alas…our home has been made a home. I know I posted a few pics of the fun that is living with my Bro. He rules. However, there were boxes from all of life since moving west 8yrs ago that had been shoved in various storage lockers as I moved camp site to camp site. Moving into the cabin meant it was time to go thru all of those boxes. It was totally smile-generating to be taken back to my days of youth…when I was (wait, still am!) madly in love with Asher Maan…

And when friends made friends home made cards. (To think we were friends in elementary school in the lil town of Aurora and now live on opposite coasts with the same big love!)

Speaking of Aurora, I had the opportunity to jump across the country for a few days in Toronto. I saw Ma+Pa, went to the One(or 5!) of a Kind show to see the crazy wild success of my favorite artist: Katy Chan! Not only is she making organic undies, but running a cafe that is a must-stop-at: Cafe Neon. (We did some cafe research at the most delicious gluten free Bakery: Bunner’s. Evidently the vegan brownie is worth mailing across the land and the cinnamon buns sell out in the first hour!)

Oh riiight, and somewhere in there, Wharty + I embarked upon a 3day juice cleanse, inspired by JCarr. It began on a dark, rainy day when we thought that consuming liquid sunshine was gonna be the only way thru this winter. The Juice Truck has created a really delicious, easy to consume, totally satisfying cleanse. I was never hungry, I could never finish all of the juices each day and I’ve never (ever!ever!) felt so clear. It’s absolutely worth it!

And last but abso-freakin’-lutely not least of all, was the lululemon GeekChic Christmas party. I knew before the party that I worked with good looking, fun human beings. Friday night confirmed that I actually work with the most BEAUTIFUL, HILARIOUS, RAD people of this planet…and the law of attraction is mighty fine, because dates/lovers/sidekicks were all equally fabulous. The only shame was that not all of TeamRecruiting was there. #humph

the night started off well...

the night started off well…

He is my Bro, my cabin mate, my best friend AND my work buddy….whaaaaaaat! We get to choose who we hire, but you don’t get to choose your siblings. I really lucked out.

So with that sweet November (or Mo’vember, don’t get me started!), i bid you adieu! Hello December….it’s time for the bike to meet the trainer. For now, I’m off to run in the trails…xo
