I’ve put my sweet celebrated dreams to sleep; I’ve rested my solid body; I’ve rejuvenated my soul for the dawn of the new year, a new chapter in fact.

When I think of closing a year of the utmost change, Hawaii has done very nicely. It served as a retreat before the big dance, a surf shack for the party afterward, a sweet home in the middle of a sweet town, a beach front to take the days from my life and call them bliss. Some of my most treasured heart beats in this world came from varying corners of the country to the lil rock known as Maui – they helped to celebrate, they show up to live their biggest lives and every single one of them leaves me inspired. They make my heart happy, grateful and burstin with the power of love!

From bike rides, gelato, hitch hiking, chubby bananas, Mana foods, endless nights (and days!) in the hammock, long extended mornings at coffee shops, wave crashing, massages on the lanai, new hippie friends and new Canadian-transplant buddies…this list will do no justice. It has been absolutely everything and so so so much more. Like, that one day we went to Lana’i swam with Honu’s, saw Flipper + drank cocktails at the Four Seasons:

Or the experience of fleeing a potential tsunami (there might be more on this one in fact). Oh, or how about the adventure to Little Beach on a Sunday night, with a picnic in tow to experience the naked, fire throwing drum circle?!

Alas, I boarded red eye back to Vancouver and was in the office by 9AM Monday morning. What I know for sure….is that the avocados might be smaller, but the power of eating from the earth remains as important; friendships are special and regardless of where in the world you land, treat them with love; time away from a desk, a life, a place confirms 100% if you love it or hate it – honour those feelings.

With every new sun set, comes a new sun rise.

For now, I’m in a sea on boxes awaiting to move for the third and final time this year. I already know I will appreciate a new sun rise from a new pad, with my Bro….tomorrow. Aloha! xo
