What I know for sure is that this lifetime is precious. Willy taught me that Cancer or not, life is meant to be lived, now.
Bucket List item #1: Qualify + Finish IM Hawaii.
On June 24th, I finished IM CdA in 4th place – first Kona loser- as the top 3 girls qualified for IM Hawaii. I have been blessed with a second chance to qualify at Ironman Canada on August 26th, with huge thanks to Newton Running. I will join forces to raise money for Cancer research along the way because what I know for sure is that the human collective spirit for good will is more powerful than 140.6 miles and will beat the deadly disease.
In less than a week, Pass the Buck[et] campaign was born! Thanks to the ever-so-creative Wharty for her witty-graphic-genius. I’ve set out to raise $3500 and here is how I’m going to do it:
Pass the Bucks…donate $14.06 to help me cross something off my bucket list. #thankyou
Pass the Bucket…donate $140.60 and send me your Bucket List; I will help you cross something off YOUR list before race day! A dollar per mile to make dreams come true. #heckyes
Think Bucket List dreams like: skydive in San Fran, plant a gratitude forest from seed paper, buy a road bike, watch a taping of SNL, learn to surf, get a tattoo about possibility….those are just a few from Jacki Carr, the goalspirational speaker herself!
*Let me add some perspective to these numbers…
…my bold request is for $14.06 which equates to $0.02/minute of the [dream] race! 1cent for Corker, 1cent for Cancer!
…if 1 out of 2 of my blog subscribers donate $14.06, I’ll reach my goal. Will you be ONE of them? (Naturally, do you need me to tell you that it is less than 3 lattes?)
…if 20 of you send me your bucket list (with a matching donation), I’ll reach my goal AND you will crush a dream! (Should I mention that I have one serious dream-team on hand…the bigger the dream, the better my friends!)
…iffff you have a better idea of how you’d like to sponsor me…barter with me…chase me to the finish line, BRING IT ON!
Check it out here so I can check it off over here! (psst…if you are Canadian, be sure to check the box that says “Yes, please direct this donation to the Coalition to Cure Prostate Cancer” so that you will receive a Canadian tax receipt.)
Serious Mahalo my sweet friends… xo

confession. I don’t know you and you don’t know me, but for some reason when I stumbled into your blog and read you had a spot for IMC to try and qualify for Kona my HR went up and my competitiveness spiked…..then I discovered you are in a different age group. WHEW! Good luck on your quest. I have the same dream, but against those fast 30 somethings. yikes. I’ll scrape together some $$ for your cause.
